The military was my life and goes back several generations for my family. After nearly 2 decades of service in the US Army, and achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant, I went on to accumulate a wealth of experience ranging from heavy truck mechanic, work on hazardous duty and bulk commodity tank trailers, as well as a Service Advisor for trucks and auto dealerships. From there, I shifted gears and built a successful career in the financial services sector with service department payment options, traveling the country, coaching, and advising partners on how to offer customized loan solutions to their auto service clients. Building on my experience in FinTech, I was offered a meaningful opportunity to pivot my skills into a role as a Home Loan Advisor. Using my years of experience and knowledge, I now help advise my clients in the homebuying process. Buying or refinancing a home can be one of the most important purchases of your lifetime. I take serious pride and care in helping to personalize homebuying options to fit each clients unique financial situation on a more personalized level.

I have a lifetime of experience in coaching, advising, research, and communications. As former military, I have a passion for helping others who have also donned the uniform, regardless of branch or era. Companies often do business with veterans and first responders without truly understanding what they do, what is important to them, and the unique bond we all share.

What would you say is the most fulfilling part of what you do?

Putting my clients at ease, helping them to read and understand documents before signing, answering any questions or concerns, and being the go-to person for them builds enormous trust and confidence, which is incredibly rewarding for me. This is the most important purchase of a lifetime for many, which leaves no room for error. Being held to a higher standard, maintaining excellent communication, meeting all time frames, and knowing the client is comfortable helps me sleep well.

How would you describe the role of education in the process?

The purchase or refinance of a home can be exhaustive and confusing, so education is an absolute must. Not all clients understand the process, what the documents mean, why certain documents are required, and what all of the costs mean during the lending process. I’ve purchased two homes and didn’t ask questions for fear of appearing to not understand. Knowing what I know now would have saved me a lot of money and stress. I have experienced the result of working with a lender that did not take the time to explain things, and I’m committed to offering a better experience.

When you’re not working, what are some of your favorite pastimes?

When I’m not working you can find me trying my luck on a mountain bike trail, spending time with my wife and 4 kids, volunteering my time, or just relaxing with a good model build.
