Motto: "I like making people feel at home"
Experience
I started in the mortgage industry in Murray Utah doing a ton of FHA, and VA loans and hit the pavement stopping at all the Realtors offices. My tagline was “I’m Cheryl and I’m here to eagerly earn your business!” Professionally I started as a loan officer, went back to processing, and after being a loan assistant for a while, I got right back into being a loan officer again. I Love, Love, Love the mortgage industry. Every loan is different because our clients’ lives are all different. I learned to respect my clients and their wonderful differences. It’s up to me to help them get a house so they can turn it into a home!
Why Options Financial Residential Mortgage?
I felt heard and they valued my various roles and experiences in the mortgage world.
What would you say is the most fulfilling part of what you do?
The most fulfilling part of the process is completion! I’m a worker bee. I want to get to “the honey”! After being a conduit between the client, loan officer, title company, Realtor, inspector, office manager, appraiser, underwriter, and lunch… it’s just so dang fulfilling to complete the loan and deliver a home or refinance for our clients.
How would you describe the role of education in the process?
Listen to the client. Listen again. Give them only accurate information and direct them towards any classes, workbooks, online education, etc in order for them to have a clear understanding. I put myself in their shoes and about the first time I got a home loan or refinance. It can be overwhelming.
When you’re not working, what are some of your favorite pastimes?
PICKLEBALL!! What else is there to life? No. Kidding. I have 4 kids, all grown and finally moved out. Hallelujah! I love to travel, even if it’s to the grocery store. I like tennis, my big Chocolate Lab, and laughing. I do a lot in my church, and I love love love to cook!
